Amazon Launches New E-book Format Kindle Format 8, Contains Many HTML5 Features
Amazon has announced on the website, Kindle previously Mobi 7 e-book format, will be the replaced by the new Kindle Format 8 (referred to as KF8).
KF8 makes the Kindle e-book is more like a super-long page, there are a lot of rules can be used to control text, fonts, images, and automatically adapt to the multi-device, multi-screen resolutions. The new format supports many HTML5 and CSS3 features, the complete supported code can be found here. Currently do not support HTML5 video and audio tags.
The new Gen of Amazon Kindle Fire which will begin selling on November 15 will be the first to support KF8 format, in the next few months, Amazon said, “our latest generation of Kindle e-ink devices also will support this format.”
